Drew brings seven years of accounting and business experience to The Haynes Company. Prior to joining the company in 2012, Drew worked for the accounting firm Monroe Shine & Co., Inc. As a staff accountant, Drew spent much of his time balanced between tax preparation and audit fieldwork. Drew gained knowledge for tax preparation for individuals, as well as many different types of businesses. He also participated in the audit of financial institutions, rural electric companies, non-profit organizations, and other types of industries.
As a part of The Haynes Company team, Drew prepares and assembles individual and business tax returns, prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports for medical practices, and aids in healthcare business consulting services for clients. Drew is combining his experience in accounting and business with his technological skills to ensure that THC is providing the most up to date and efficient services to its clients. Drew also writes for the THC Blog and has had articles published by Medical Economics. Drew is a Certified Healthcare Business Consultant (CHBC), see Professional Organizations tab for full description. Drew is also an Enrolled Agent (EA). As an EA, he has the privilege of representing tax payers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). EA status is the highest credential that the IRS awards. EA’s are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS office they can represent clients before.
Personal
Drew was born and raised in New Albany, Indiana. He attended New Albany High School where he excelled in the classroom as well as on the baseball field. He was president of the National Honor Society, graduated as Valedictorian, and set many single season and career baseball records. Drew was awarded a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Louisville where he played four years, was named team captain, and set the record for most games played (244). Drew also earned a degree in Accounting.
Drew and his wife Abby live in New Albany with their 3 daughters Lucy, Finley and Hazel. Abby is a first grade teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. In his free time, Drew enjoys playing golf, cooking and watching/attending sporting events.
